Our client in this project wanted us to create a modern sport complex to service mainly young people and teenagers. The basketball court is designed with epoxy flooring, we may see epoxy floors all the time, but not many of us are aware of the advantages they provide. Epoxy resin flooring has the longest lifetime. Only concrete floors have a longer lifespan than epoxy floors, and even then concrete floors need proper sealing and preservation to compete with epoxy floors.
This feature makes it a perfect choice for indoor sports courts, you also don’t need to add color to your floors because you can cast the colored epoxy. The court lighting is also very light and doesn’t cast any heavy shadows which is a bad feature for the sports courts. LED light boxes on the ceiling create this controlled lighting atmosphere for the court.
The swimming pool and Jacuzzi of the sports complex are placed on the west side of the building site. The natural travertine stone is selected to cover floors and walls and color space. Its natural light brown color adds warmth to space, and because of its natural rough surface, it prevents user to slip on the floors. Spotlights on the walls create a focused lighting effect, and light boxes on the ceiling provide the main light source needed for the pool.
There are many gym flooring choices out there, but one that you may probably have not considered is carpet. Carpet is a great choice for both commercial and house gyms. We’re not talking about an expensive, soft carpet. There’s an entire different carpet world out there; outside the world of house flooring carpets.
There are some special gym carpeting that is very durable. This stuff is built to stand for years, and it can tolerate the wear and tear of some pretty hard workouts. Mirrors all over the walls are one of the most necessities of any gym, as you can see in the existing architectural renders we placed some large size mirrors with wooden frames on the main wall of the gym.
