Wake up, get dressed (or not), make your coffee and head over to do some work at your desk in your own apartment. Sounds like heaven, right? The owner of this Barcelona apartment uses this small space for both living and working spaces.
our architects described the volume as "an empty box waiting to be filled, The idea of light and the simple room where it could be possible to easily jump from one end to another was always in our minds from the very first steps of design."
We designed the workplace near the bed so moving from bed to desk is a kind of small physical effort in this bright cozy apartment. Walls and floors are all finished in white, so the only splashes of color come from items of furniture and framed artworks.
As the bed is a large furniture piece, our architectural 3D modeling team needed to balance the area by placing smaller pieces of furniture in the room. There was free space beside the bed and two small side tables on either side would do so for us. But instated of lights on the bedside tables we preferred to place some flower pots to make the space as airy as possible Large windows provide us with wonderful panoramic views and in this apartment, it is what completely changes the look of the room and the ambiance inside the place. A bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the surrounding nature or a great view of the city is something many of us dream of having.
Whether its day or night, a large window in the bedroom can definitely make the atmosphere feel pleasing. During the day, it lets in natural light and makes the room look and feel cheerful and during the night it creates a romantic and serene mood in the space.

Because we were working with a really limited space in this bright cozy apartment, we wanted to locate the desk near the bed but It’s important to keep a distinction between work and relaxation areas, so we kept a minimum of 2 meters between bed and desk.
A small library and some small decorative objects add energy to space, beside a floor lamp which acts as a modern statue for the apartment.
